A GENIUS Party Bag Idea!

Shanah recently went to a birthday party and received her Name in Chocolate sprinkled in 'glitter' as a party bag - pure genius!!

The mommy said it was time consuming, but cost effective and the kids loved it!

To make them up , she just melted regular chocolate into moulds, sprinkled them in edible glitter, left them to set, then bagged them up with a name tag!

Pure Genius...

For Shanah's party recently, I bought £1 kites from the supermarket and £1 frisbees from PoundStretcher - they went down a treat and the mums were so glad not to go home with a bag full of sugar...

What are your party bag faves/hates?

Sweet Birthdays

Wooooo... it's been a BIZZY couple of weeks here.... a certain someone turned 7, so of course we threw a BIRFDAY BASH!

We had cake for breakfast....as is the Tradition in our house...

I whipped up some hair-inspired birthday invitations, inspired by Pinterest... naturally..

The STASH! She got a bicycle too - but I haven't got a piccie, sorry!

Happy Birthday Sleepyhead :)

Loving her gypsy skirt :)

TOO excited about these sweet little boots - Thanks Nanny Scarecrow and Grandad Fluffy!

We hired the village hall just up the road, the weather was FABULOUS, so we set up outside :)

Played some games, danced our heads off, ate too much cake...

I HEART bunting :) and ONE pound bubble machines from Asda... did you spot the bubbles blowing over them? tooooo sweet..

Yes, I made this awesome cake. Yes, the 'Y' in happy broke while we were lighting the candles. Yes, it was Pinterest inspired. Yes, we ran out of smarties so had to fill it up with small ones. Yes, it was flipping delicious!

Make a wish my love :)
Me: " What did you wish for shan?! "
Friend: " She can't tell yoooouuu! It won't come truuueee!!"
Shanah: " A pony. And I really do want it. Thanks mom"

SCREAMING while cutting the cake.... man...15 girls can scream REALLY loudly!

Afterwards we all went over to the field and flew kites & frisbees - I bought one for each child instead of a party pack, they Loved it :)

All in all a pretty good birthday - Hope ALL of your dreams come true my sweet darling girl xxx

Flamin' Orange... Muddy Beach

The sun came out to tease us.......... so we googled the nearest beach and hopped in the car to find it. 2 hours later ( I blame google maps.... it said 1 hour)....... we found this mudbath of a beach......................

Seriously, it took me a WEEK to get the mud off my feet, and yes big brother / little sister, that is with showering every day, before you comment :)

The sea was about a mile away, and it.... smelt funny....

Yes... there was a goat...

I am walking behind in silver-sequinned flip flops, cursing the very existence of this beach. But LOVING the sunshine of course.

That was pretty cool...

Your feet sink into this stuff like sinking sand.... we're lucky to be alive really... exaggeration

We tried HARD to have fun.

We lasted Five minutes.

I hurled the kids into the ice-cream shop, bought a new pair of shoes (score!) and we headed to the nearest pub for lunch.

We also spotted this beauty............

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L - I want one...

The Mountains out here are stunning...... and yes, I would say they are mountains. It's the closest thing to a mountain I've seen here yet. People were abseiling and hiking and all that cool stuff.

English Summer Country Lane :)

Literally 20 minutes from the sea... pretty cool - I love this picture.

Dear Summer, Please come back - we MISS you... Love, all of England xx

Mushiness. Sweet Mushiness.

Dave's away. I'm feeling mushy. I found this quote, so I PicMonkey'ed the hell out of it, made it beautiful - and I'm sharing it with you here.

You can go and throw up now. Or you can stay here and be mushy with me for 5 minutes. I have wine and Ferrero Rocher.

It's good here.

Croccing Around

I was lucky enough to WIN a pair of Carliana Peep Toe Crocs at a recent Bloggers Conference I attended. Oh the power of Twitter - we simply had to Tweet using their #HashTag and stand a chance to win. Pretty awesome.

Not being a croc wearer (apart from my brief stint running a pub kitchen), I decided to think Summery, and go for these babies.

Yes, put your sunnies on. That is the TRUE colour of my legs. Good 'ol British Summer.

I found the shoes ultra comfy to wear, like walking on a duvet. They have these cool little footbed nubs, so it feels like a foot massage while you're walking around. For Reals. Plus, they didn't feel like my feet were going to DIE of heat either, which I thought may happen when I looked at the material of the shoe - but no sirrreeee, cool as a cucumber.

This pair retails on their site HERE for just £34.99 per pair, although at the moment they are on 25% off Sale, so you can get them for just £26.24! Go Go Go!

*I received a pair of Crocs as a prize at Britmums Live and offered to write a review to show my appreciation. All opinions and thoughts are my own*

GlossyBox Review - June

I've decided to shift my GlossyBox Reviews to the beginning of the month.  This way I can actually use the products for a few weeks before I rush to get the review up. Because of this genius plan of mine, I think you'll get much more honest reviews - and all that Bejazzle.

So here ya go:

Eeeeekk! What could be inside.....??

Product Number 1: Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush - RRP: £15

Product Description (all descriptions from the GlossyBox site)

"This timeless and classic series in matt black comes in a noble and elegant design.  Made with best quality goat hair with natural tips from Asian mountain goats.  The supersoft hair is collected when the cost is trimmed, then sanitised and bundled by hand to make these smooth and resilient cosmetic brushes.  With lots of volume, these brushes can absorb large amounts of powder and apply your make-up in a soft way. "

My 2 pennies worth:

To me, a brush is a brush. Shock horror! All of you beauty reviewers out there, I KNOW I'm wrong. I know it. But to ME, I just can't tell the difference, except whether the hairs fall out or not. I know. Slam me down and call me shorty. I AM however very grateful for being sent a £15 brush in my £10 box.

Next up:

My 2 Pennies Worth:

Product Description:

Intensely cheerful, Zeste de Vigne is a very refreshing fragrance. It combines notes of orange and lemon leaves with sparkling lemon, sweet orange and energizing mandarin. RRP: £26/50ml.
My Two Pennies:

My favourite product in the box. I'm not usually a 'Citrussy Smelly' type of gal, but I loved this fragrance - summer in a bottle.  I took it to the Bloggers Conference -  Britmums Live , to keep freshening up the 'el loo - the size was perfect, and a really generous sample!

My Two Pennies:
I must admit, when I first saw this in the box I was a bit disappointed, as I knew I would only use 1 shade. However...... this shazzle sticks like flies on sss....ugar.  It is BRILLIANT stuff for covering up my PMS lumps on my face. Great product - although not sure I would spend £20 on a cover stick..

This month I decided to go THRIFTY!  I've had an old clock kicking around for a while now. Dave has threatened to take it to the dump at least 10 times, and every time I've managed to sneak it out of the dump stuff and hidden it away, pleading with him to keep it because 'one day I will restore it to fabulousness darling....trust me!'

So here you have my inspiration, an awesome mirror which I Pinned, by the lovely Meg over at Whatever

Meg painted hers, I decided to attack a similar style clock with SPRAY PAINT BABY. It's all about Spray Paint.

So here is the old girl. We adopted her when we moved into our Pub . Trying to get the back off was probably the most difficult part of the whole thang. I was hoping a million pounds was stashed in the back, but alas it was not to be...

.

So after a quick clean and a light sand with the kitchen scourer ( Why do I never have the right tools..)  I sprayed like maaaad.

Touch dry in 20 minutes. That's my kind of craft. A second coat and a polish of the old girls face and............

One shabby chiccy type clock - hanging proudly on the kitchen wall. I quite like it if I do say so myself. This whole project cost me about 50p's worth of spray paint. Such a thrifty one I am.
