Seriously.... I don't mind scrabbling around looking for things if I have to, because you can find some A.W.E.S.O.M.E stuff in there people - I never spend less than 2 hours in the store, and I always come out with a bargain or two.
We were sent some lovely vouchers to spend £30 for Tayla my 10 year old daughter, and £30 for mwah. We were encouraged to buy an outfit, or pieces to compliment an existing outfit, within budget.
So here we go! We took advantage of our fab Railcard and jumped on the train. Because shopping with older kids is ALWAYS more fun if a train ride is involved.
| SO excited to spend her moola! |
| Hello rails of loveliness |
Outfit #1: She loved this outfit, but was £2 over budget... plus she thought the side zip would irritate her a little..
Outfit #2: She fell in love with this hoodie.... but also really wanted the nike tshirt and couldn't decide!
Then she discovered this awesome top with a hole in it for the thumb and was SOLD!
So, she ended up with lovely grey smart trousers, a nike tshirt and a grey comfy top with thumb-holes in it for £28 ! The Nike tshirt is EXCELLENT quality.. the next day she spilt tea all over it and it came out in the wash like NEW. Awesome-oh!
Of course, we had to try some shades on too - little sister is not one to be left out..
Cool like Jagger...
Then we had a quick nosy around the Adults section for my goodies, I picked up these awesome purple glittery skinny jeans for £14 - Uk Size 14.... American Size 5.... I didn't try them on until we got home and they wouldn't even fit over my Cankles. (calf and ankles merged) *insert big sad face here* I LOVE these jeans but there's no way they are a Size 14, according to the conversion chart they are a UK size 9 - HA! In my dreams!! Next time, I'll definitely try stuff on.. I also picked up an awesome Tommy Hilfiger T-shirt, brilliant quality too, for just £12 - bargain! Here's a picture of me making faces in my bathroom mirror for you, wearing said shirt.
I spotted this awesome little gift card while we were in the queue. - Love this! #twitteraddict
Tay was very proud of herself for sticking to her budget and loved her stuff so much that we had to dash into the loo at the station to get changed for the journey home :)
And ensure our makeup was reapplied too :)
I'm including this at the end because she was vlogging the day for her Youtube channel, but has since misplaced the camera!! We're hoping it's at the grandparentals, so look out for that video here soon!
All in all we had the most fantastic day.. HUGE thanks to TK Maxx and Britmums!
So, Do your kids enjoy shopping? Do you set budgets? Where do you shop? Let's chat in the comments section :)

Fantastic! I LOVE shopping with my girls now very nearly 13 & 11. We can spend hours mooching in shops & love TKMAXX. They're pretty savvy shoppers & both love a bargain. Eldest rarely pays full price for anything! I've always given them their own money to shop with as I think it's a very important life lesson to learn that purses aren't bottomless & sometimes you have to choose 'this' or 'that' Girly shopping days are the best! :o)
