Its that time of the week again............................. Whoop Whoop Wednesday - A Giveaway!
Today I am giving away, a Little Piece of Africa... in the form of these fabulous Monkey Apple Xmas Decorations:
These GORGEOUS hand-painted Baubles have fallen from the trees, and been dried ( the local name for this fruit is 'Ihlali' ) in beautiful Zimbabwe, and have been lovingly created by local craftsmen and women near Victoria Falls. These ones have Guinea Fowl painted on them, but I have a few in my Ebay shop with all sorts of things, individually created on them.
This video shows you EXACTLY the type of place I have bought these from in my home country... Africa. You will LOVE this lady - I'm sure - Meet Angela, please spare 4 minutes to watch this :

My favourite Christmas tradition - my, that's a hard one I have so many. Eating mince pies has to come quite high. Although my fave has to be reading a Christmas story with the children through advent - one chapter per day.

ReplyDeleteI am not in the uk, so cant win.. But still wanna share my favourite christmas tradition. I come from Norway, we have 1 meter of snow, minus 30 degrees around christmas, and we open our presents on 24th. Just that is strange to many...
ReplyDeleteSo getting up at 7 in the morning on the 24th, sit with my sister and brother in out pyjamas and watch old Disney christmas classics. My sister, brother and me setting the table for dinner. My sister and I decorating it. Jumping in the shower, getting my self and my sister (she is 8 ) dressed in beautiful dresses. Putting on coats, hats and gloves. Go out to the stable with a porridge and beer for our farms stable-santa. But pine branches on the stabel doors, so it looks pretty in the stabel. And give each and every horse a treat for christmas (we have 14) and the dogs jumping around us (a dachs hound and a great dane) and making sure the cats are feed and warm in the stable. Then..... Sitting down having christmas dinner for 2-3 hours.. and when I was younger, the most important thing comes now; the presents. We have one person saying out laud who is getting the present and who it is from. We all watch as one open one present at a time... It takes a long time, but it is so nice... Then i curl up by my self or with my boyfriend by the fire, read lord of the rings as I do every christmas since I was 13.
I simply love the 24th of december.
My favourite christmas tradition has to be decorating the tree. It's so nice doing it as a family and always gets me in a christmas mood :)

My favourite Christmas tradition... hmm there are a few - going to pick out the biggest Christmas tree with Hutch and then decorating it whilst listening to Christmas songs and eating ginger bread. Then on the actual day (when I go home for it) it's the Christmas stocking my Mum (aka Santa) does for me and my sister, we open them at about 6am! Then there is the yummy meat my Dad cooks on the BBQ each year, we don't have turkey, usually go for cockerel.
ReplyDeleteOoh feel christmassy now, especially as i'm making my new Christmas card range for Water Lily Wishes!
Ok, so the other actions to win these cool decorations....
